BAR ran improved type 005B. The difference from 005 can scoop out side pod and is condition. But compared with the top team, it is square, and there is a feeling of hurried construction. As for the first day, troubles occurred one after another. The number of the rear wings still continues being two. It seems not to be as sweet as it to be able to fight with type like MP 4/17D in the previous year. They also hold a big subject called matching with Michelin.

Paul Ricard stands as a candidate
Paul Ricard stands as a candidate instead of Magny Cours towards 2004 France GP holding. Bernie Ecclestone owns Paul Ricard. Although there is still no seat, it can make, if it becomes the mind. Lighting equipment is prepared and the first night race in F1 is also considered. By the case, there may be only for TV relays without a seat. Paul Ricard has the actual result which held F1 no less than 14 times from 1971. It is also the home course of Toyota.

MP4/19 appeared
McLaren carried out the shake down of the new car MP 4-19 at Barcelona test. In the improved type of MP 4-18, the ridgeline of rear cowl is having become high towards back in a difference. Mercedes's engine FO 110Q corresponds to 1 race 1 engine of next season. Two upper shuttlecocks of rear wing decreased to one sheet by regulation of next season. In addition, the periscope type exhaust exit is adopted.

France GP stops in 2004, revitalize from 2005?
Magny Cours circuit chief Roland Hodel
"We're taking a break in 2004, in full agreement with Bernie Ecclestone and we have signed a contract from 2005 to 2009 with a possibility to renew it for five more years." (Atlas)

France state sets about?
France's sports minister Jean-Francois Lamour "A decision had yet to be taken by the competent authorities. I would be supporting efforts by the French motor racing federation to persuade the sport's ruling body, the FIA, to keep the race on the 2004 calendar for the good of motor sport." (Atlas)

France has Michelin and Renault. It is the country in which the world's first car race was performed in 1895, and world's first Grand Prix was performed in 1906. On the other hand, F1 may be stopped only at once in 1955. (sio)

F1 is still in a crisis
2004 France GP cancelled?

France Grand Prix in Magny-Cours of next year is likely to be driven into the stop. The Nievre local government has lapsed into the financial problem, and cannot pay capital for Grand Prix which took out the large deficit for two consecutive years. When France GP is a stop, Britain GP shifts to July 11th. July 4th which was a schedule has the final of Wimbledon. (Atlas)

2004 Brazil GP is also the pinch
A citizen group appeals against Sao Paulo which is sponsoring Brazil GP, and it was beaten from them. 9 million dollars became unable to make an investment upon Grand Prix, without helping a poverty layer. It is stopped if the company which pays capital instead of a city does not appear. (Tokyo Chunichi)

If Canada GP is made into the direction of sponsorship next year, does 16th game Suzuka become the final game?

Probably, it turns out that F1 is still in a crisis. A company wanting to finance the event which a lot of money called what 100 million requires is required.

(AUTOSPORT)
Montoya "Ron Dennis decided to make the deal public"
Montoya "The decision to change teams wasn't dictated by a falling out with Williams. As soon as I had signed with McLaren I went and told Frank. I am happy here at Williams and for this reason I will honour to the letter my contract, driving one more year with them."
"An offer was made to me, I spoke to Ron Dennis and the Mercedes directors and then I made my decision. The decision to make the deal public was taken by Ron Dennis and I don't believe it will do me any damage. Williams had been well ahead of time of my decision. I will continue to work as I always have with the objective of winning the world championship and I am sure that this season McLaren will be a very tough opponent."

The three year contract of Montoya is the year of 1 billion yen (presumption). (Atlas)

BMW "It's quite normal to think about switching teams"
Mario Taissen "You don't get the chance to win a World Championship title every day. If the chance is there, you must take it. Juan knows that too. I'm convinced that he will be just as motivated in 2004 as he's been up to now. At the end of 2004, Juan will have been driving for our team for four years. It's quite normal to think about switching teams after that period of time. We'll talk about the quality of the new drivers' duo when the decision is final."(AUTOSPORT)

Raikkonen "I will continue to race with the objective of beating him"
Raikkonen "Montoya may be my team-mate in 2005. But who is to say I'll still be at McLaren? It will be interesting to see what happens. His hiring does not change my attitude to him. I will continue to race with the objective of beating him, just like I do now with David Coulthard." (AUTOSPORT)

Montoya can join McL early 2004?
(Tokyo Chunichi) The reverse side of an exceptional transfer announcement has diplomacy involving the forfeit of the present contract. But the relation between F.Williams and Montoya has got cold, subscription of Montoya may be rash for one year.

Why now? Montoya will drive McLaren in 2005
Juan Pablo Montoya
"I am thrilled to be joining West McLaren Mercedes. The team is consistently a strong World Championship contender and has a fantastic heritage. It's a great opportunity for me and I'm really looking forward to the first time I will be able to drive one of their cars. To join them is an amazing challenge and experience which I plan to fully enjoy. However, my short term aim is to concentrate 100 percent on winning the 2004 World Championship."

Ron Dennis "We want to win races and World Championships, and in order to do so we have to plan for the future whilst applying every effort in the short term. The opportunity to sign a talent like Juan Pablo was too good to miss, and there is already a considerable amount of anticipation within our team about 2005. Juan Pablo has achieved a considerable amount of success in his career and we are certain that he will add to this with West McLaren Mercedes. We are certainly looking forward to seeing what he can do in one of our cars and I believe that it's a prospect that can't fail to excite Formula One fans around the world. However until that happens we will be focusing all efforts on our 2004 Championship challenge."

* McLaren constructs joint No.1 organization of Montoya and Raikkonen, and aims at throne recapture. Ferrari by which Schumacher or subsequent ones is not seen was forestalled. Coulthard is taken out with 2005 from McLaren at last. Williams who was too stingy in money may not put power into 2004 at Montoya. (sio)

(Planet F1)
Brundle "Senna was better than Schumacher"
Martin Brundle
(Former F1 driver, F1's best TV pundit) "Senna was better than Schumacher. He had a greater skill and a greater talent and he was a more natural, more emotionally driven man than Michael. I raced a long time with Ayrton particularly coming through the junior formulae and I was a team-mate to Schumacher so I know them both well, so my vote always goes to Senna. Hakkinen wasn't too far off either, it has to be said, but that's not to deny Michael's achievements which are just sensational, but I think Ayrton had more talent. When I came into Formula 1 twenty years ago there were 10 or 11 household names in Formula 1; Senna, Lauda, Prost, Piquet, Mansell, it just went on and on and on, the list of world class drivers and today I don't think that's the case today. I don't think you can compare the eras." (Planet F1)

Prost criticized Schumacher
Alain Prost "What annoys me most is the way certain drivers sign No 1 contracts leaving the No 2 with nothing to do but lick their boots. There is no natural, internal rivalry. Michael is an exceptional driver but the circumstances have worked very much in his favour.
"He has never been up against really sharp opposition either in his own team or outside. Ferrari would never have won if they had been grooming two drivers for success."
"The start at Indianapolis this season made me pretty sick. It may have been the only chance they had of winning but Ferrari do go a bit far sometimes." (AUTOSPORT)

*1 Schumacher had six thrones and two runner-ups, Prost had four thrones and four runner-ups. But Prost had lost thrones by powerful teammates, Lauda and Senna. As for Schumacher, the contract protected him.

*2 The start of the United States GP and No. 2 Barrichello became late, cars of even number sequence was got blocked, and Schumacher of odd number sequence surfaced from 7th to the 3rd place.

Ferrari's true aim of spy doubt is for McLaren?
Patrick Camus "Three engineers who became a problem could not access the true secret portion and the documents to which were perfectly equal. It is not Toyota that Ferrari made it the target. Ferrari sounded the alarm bell to the betrayal act which may happen first after this. "

"Nicola Tonbajis which had generalized the aerodynamics of Ferrari will transfer to McLaren. Tod was confused. Tonbajis worked together with Bahn and Brown. They were a few one persons who could know all the F2003-GA."

Overseas opinions to spy doubt Toyota
Opinions of the forum of British Atlas is extracted about the doubt into which the employee of Toyota copied and carried the data of Ferrari.

"And just think about what it would do to their image if it turns out to be true. They spend an infinite amount of $$$ on F1 and then it turns out they just stole the Ferrari design. I don't think that's what the big boys in Japan are hoping for, unless they take pride in being copycats of course!"

"The English invent it. The American refine it. The Japanese make it cheap and mass produce it. Old adage, probably out of date - but the last line speaks volumes."

"This "industrial espionage" comes with the sport of F1. What happens when designers and other technical specialist go from one team to the other...don't they bring knowledge with them (either in hardcopy, softcopy or 'braincopy')? Is this what the future of F1 will be like? Lawsuits and prosecuting between competing manufacturers??? The FIA should really step in and do somet......oh no, FIA is owned by Ferrari already....."

"Can't see Toyota would be so stupid as to sanction a criminal offence. Most likely, as stated above, this was a chap who had the stuff - perhaps innocently - and Toyota never used it."

"Ferrari probably have more to fear from Toyota over the long term than just about any other team. It's a bit disappointing if that is their primary motivation for launching this probe. I just hope this isn't a game of Ferrari's to try to knock back a dangerous competitor."

MP4-19 launch at Nov.25
McLaren makes the next year's new car MP 4-19 already appear in Nov.25.
Ron Dennis "When you see it, you will see that the MP4-18 is its mother."
