マザーグース的脚韻引用
牧歌的な雰囲気の作品で、「世界が回るのをじっと見つめている男」は地動説を唱えたガリレオ・ガリレイを連想させる。

Well on the way, head in a cloud,
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud.
But nobody ever hears him
Or the sound he appearss to make
And he never seems to notice.

And nobody seems to like him,
They can tell what he wants to do
And he never shows his feelings.

The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
『鏡の国のアリス』第７章「ライオンとユニコーン」には、「白の王が丘の上に住んでい
る」（He lives on the hill.）という一節がでてくる。
一方、hill と still で韻を踏んでいるところは、次のマザーグースによく似ている。
There was an old woman おばあさんがいた
Lived under ahill, 丘のふもとに 住んでいた
And if she's not gone もしも どこかへ 行っていなかったら
She lives therestill. 今でもそこに 住んでいる
