Renault is the quickest in long run
BAR shows the quickness in long run
やや時間が経ってしまいましたが、2/2から5日間すべてドライで行われたバルセロナでのテストの全ラップタイムチャートを振り返りましょう。このテストでは、フェラーリ(F2003-GA)、ウィリアムズ、マクラーレン、ルノー、BAR、ザウバー、トヨタの7チームが参加しました。
ベストタイムの推移は上の図の通り。最初の2日間でBARのバトンと琢磨がコースレコードを更新するタイムを出しました。これらのタイムはどのチームも3周程度の走行で出ました。今回はこれを参考程度にとどめ、以下の全ラップタイムチャートでロングラン時の各車のペースを注目することにしましょう。図は3強（フェラーリ・ウィリアムズ・マクラーレン）と、それ以外に分けてあります。しかし、それ以外の中のルノーとBARが速さを示しました。
参考までに、2003年の金曜PPタイムは1:17.130、土曜PPタイムは1:17.762、日曜FLタイムは1:20.143でした。今回のテストでは、3秒も速くなっていたのです。5日間で最も遅かったザウバーでさえ、前年の金曜PPタイムより速くなっていました。
しかし、大事故が相次ぎました。3日目にマッサ、4日目にパニスがコントロールを失ってクラッシュし、病院へ搬送されたのです。幸い、ドライバーたちに異常はなかったものの、F1が速くなり過ぎてきたのではないかと思わせました。
Although time passes a little, let's look back upon all the lap time charts of the test in Barcelona altogether performed by dry cleaning from Feb.2 to five days. By this test, Ferrari (F2003-GA), Williams, McLaren, Renault, BAR, Sauber and Toyota, seven teams participated.
Transition of a best time is as the upper figure. Button of BAR and Takuma took out the time which updates a course record in two days of the beginning. These times came out of every team to the run of about 3 rounds. Let's limit this to a reference grade and observe the pace of each car at the time of a long run with all the following lap time charts this time. The figure is divided about with three (the Ferrari Williams McLaren) in addition to it. However, Renault of the other inside and BAR showed speed.
By reference, Friday, 2003 PP time was [ 1:17.762 and the Sunday FL time of 1:17.130 and the Saturday PP time ] 1:20.143. By this test, it was quick no less than 3 seconds. Even latest Sauber was quicker than the Friday PP time of the previous year in five days.
However, the big accident succeeded one another. Panis
will lose Massa on the 3rd, loses control, and it will crash on the 4th,
and was conveyed in the hospital. Although it was normal to happiness, a
driver et al., F1 made it think whether to become quick too much.
Day One (Feb.2)
初日はルノーとトヨタが参加せず、5チーム9人が走りました。トップタイムはデビューしたばかりのBAR006に乗るバトンでした。1:13.867は自らが1/22に出した1:14.607（5周走行）を0.73秒も上回るタイムでした。
これは3周だけの走行で記録されたタイムです。ウィリアムズFW26のジェネは1:15.302をバトンより9周長い12周走行の最初に記録しました。1.4秒遅れですが、9周分は0.7秒しか遅くならないので、BARがデビュー時から速さを見せたと言えましょう。ただし、バトンの2番目のタイムは1:15.567（5周走行）、3番目のタイムは1:15.725（7周走行）だったので、ジェネの12周分より遅くなりました。とはいえ、初走行ではポテンシャルを見せれば十分です。
BARは佐藤が005Bで11周走行したとき、ベストタイムが1:16.751（61周目）ですが、その後の周は1:17から1:18秒台でした。ウィリアムズはロングラン時のペースが、ジェネとラルフともに1:18秒台をキープしました。BARはまだ006でロングランをしませんでしたが、005Bならウィリアムズと同じペースで走れました。
なお、ラルフは前週の腹痛から復帰したばかりで本調子ではなかったかもしれません。
一方、フェラーリはF2003-GAだったのですが、バドエルがロングラン時（62-71周目）に1:17秒台の速いタイムをキープできました。
マクラーレンはベストタイムが遅いだけでなく、ロングランのタイムペースもウィリアムズに比べてやや遅いことがわかります。ダレン・ターナー（イギリス、29歳）は、FIA-GT選手権のドライバーで、マクラーレンのテストを1999年から務めています。
Renault and Toyota did not participate but, as for the first day, five teams nine drivers ran. The top time was Button which rides on BAR006 which just came out. 1:13.867 was the time exceeding 1:14.607 (5 laps run) which himself took out at Jan.22 than 0.73 seconds.
This is the time recorded to the run of only 3 laps. Williams's FW26 Gene recorded 1:15.302 to the beginning of a run 12 laps longer 9 laps than Button. Although it is delay, since the amount of 9 laps becomes late only for 0.7 seconds for 1.4 seconds, BAR should say that speed was shown from the time of a debut. However, since 1:15.567 (5 laps run) and the 3rd time was 1:15.725 (7 laps run), the 2nd time of Button became later than a part for 12 laps of Gene. But a first run is enough if potential is shown.
Although the best time was 1:16.751 (the 61st lap) when Sato ran 11 laps by 005B in BAR, the subsequent lap was the level of 1:17 to 1:18 seconds. As for Williams, in Gene and Ralf, the pace at the time of a long run saved the level of 1:18 seconds. Although BAR did not yet carry out the stripes of the long run by 006, if it was 005B, it was able to run at the same pace as Williams.
In addition, possibly Ralf was not this tune about having returned from the stomachache of the week before.
On the other hand, although Ferrari was F2003-GA, Bader has saved the quick time of the level of 1:17 seconds at the time (the 62 to 71st lap) of a long run.
Not only a best time was late, but McLaren understands that the time pace of a long run is also a little late compared with Williams. Darren Turner (Britain, 29 years old) is the driver of FIA-GT championship, and has done the test of McLaren from 1999.
Day Two (Feb.3)
二日目はルノーとトヨタも合流し、7チーム14人が走りました。トップタイムはBAR005Bに乗る佐藤が記録しました。1:13.797（4周走行）は前日のバトンのタイムを0.07上回り、コースレコードを更新しました。2番手はアロンソ(R24)の1:14.687（5周走行）でした。佐藤のアタックは1回だけでしたが、アロンソは1:14秒台を3回出しています。
佐藤はロングランで、15周と12周を2回ずつこなしました。最初の周で1:15秒台を出し、あとは1:17-1:18のペースをキープしました。タイヤテストでは、前日にたくさんの種類を短い周回で試し、選んだいくつかを長い周回で走ってみるものです。佐藤は選んだどのセットでも安定した走りができていました。バトンは1:15秒台を2回出しましたが、26周だけで終了しました。
アロンソは8周走行を2回行いましたが、佐藤と同じ1:17-1:18ペースでした。ルノーはシャシーの改善プログラムを続けました。
ウィリアムズはジェネとラルフともロングランで1:17-1:18ペースでしたが、佐藤より速い時もあれば遅い時もあるなど、波が大きいようでした。ピケJr.がFW25で走り、1:16.431と好タイムをマークしました。1/23にロズベルグJr.が出した1:16.486をわずかに上回ったのです。
フェラーリのバリチェロはこの日ロングランをあまり行いませんでしたが、ベストタイムは前日のバドエルを更新しました。
マクラーレンはロングランのペースが1:18-1:19と遅いままでした。
トヨタはベストタイム（1:15.992）、ロングランペース（1:19秒前後）とも遅く、ライバルに水をあけられました。
ザウバーは空力の測定を行う予定でしたが、トランスミッションのトラブルでテストを中止するはめになりました。
Second day, Renault and Toyota also joined and seven teams 14 drivers ran. Sato who rode on BAR005B recorded the top time. 1:13.797 (4 laps run) exceeded the time of Button on the other day 0.07, and updated the course record. No.2 was 1:14.687 (5 laps run) of Alonso (R24). Although Sato's attack was only 1 time, Alonso was taking out the level of 1:14 seconds 3 times.
Sato in long run managed 15 laps and 12 laps by a unit of 2 times. The level of 1:15 seconds was taken out with the first lap, and the rest saved the pace of 1:17-1:18. By the tire test, many kinds are tried on the short circumference and selected some are run by the long circumference on the other day. Sato had done the run stabilized by any selected set. Although Button took out the level of 1:15 seconds twice, it ended only by 26 laps.
Although Alonso performed the run twice 8 laps, it was the 1:17 -1:18 same pace as Sato. Renault continued the improvement program of a chassis.
It seemed that a wave, such as being late, was large if quicker than Sato although Williams was 1:17 to 1:18 pace in the long run with Gene and Ralf. Picquet Jr. ran by FW25 and marked 1:16.431 and the good time. It exceeded slightly 1:16.486 which Rosberg Jr. took out at Jan.23.
Although Barrichello of Ferrari seldom performed this long run, the best time updated Badoer on the other day.
The pace of McLaren of long run was still as late as 1:18-1:19.
Toyota's best time (1:15.992) and long-run pace (around 1:19 seconds) was late, and it was surpassed by the rivals.
Although Sauber was due to measure aerodynamics, it ended up stopping a test by the trouble of transmission.
Day Three (Feb.4)
三日目は7チーム15人が走りました。アロンソが1:14.665でトップタイムを記録しました（5周走行）。アロンソはこの日かなりのロングランを行いました。25周を2回、27周を1回行いました。ここで平均して1:18秒台をマークしたのは驚異でした。最初の25周の時は序盤にペースが落ちましたが、2回目と3回目は安定していました。彼は最後に短いアタックを行い、1:15前後を安定して出せました。この時、ルノー恐るべしと思わされました。
ウィリアムズはラルフが最初にロングランを行い、1:17前後と良いペースを出せました。その後は短い周回を繰り返し、アロンソに次ぐ1:14.679（3周走行）を出しました。
バトンは7周走行で1:14.699を出し、ルノーとウィリアムズに迫りました。ただしロングランのペースは12周で1:18前後であり、しかもペースダウンが見られました。このあたりに、BARがミシュランを使いこなすことの課題がありそうです。
フェラーリはバドエルがロングランを行いました。ペースは1:18秒台でそれほど光りませんでした。
一方、マクラーレンはライコネンとクルサードがともにロングランを行いました。ペースはフェラーリと同じ1:18秒台でした。しかしベストタイムは1:16を切ることが出来ませんでした。
トヨタはベストタイムが1:16を切りました。ロングランも1:18秒台で前日より改善しました。
この日、ザウバーはマッサが序盤に大クラッシュをしてしまいました。原因はサスペンションのトラブルのようです。ザウバーは予定したテストがあまりできずにバルセロナから去りました。
Seven teams 15 drivers ran third day. Alonso recorded the top time by 1:14.665 (5 laps run). Alonso performed this day or the becoming long run. 2 times and 27 laps were performed once for 25 laps. It averaged here and wonder marked the level of 1:18 seconds. Although the pace fell at the beginning at the time of 25 laps of the beginning, the 2nd time and the 3rd time were stable. He performed the short attack at the end, was stabilized and was able to take out 1:15 order. At this time, I thought that Renault should have been feared.
Ralf performed the long run first and Williams was able to take out the good pace 1:17 order. The short circumference was repeated after that and 1:14.679 (3 laps run) which ranks second to Alonso was taken out.
Button took out 1:14.699 with the run 7 laps, and pressed Renault and Williams for it. However, the pace of a long run is before and after 1:18 in 12 laps, and, moreover, the pace down was seen. The subject of BAR mastering a Michelin is likely to occur around here.
As for Ferrari, Badoer performed the long run. The pace did not shine so much on the level of 1:18 seconds.
On the other hand, as for both McLaren, Raikkonen and Coulthard performed the long run. The pace was the same level of 1:18 seconds as Ferrari. However, the best time was not able to cut 1:16.
As for Toyota, the best time cut 1:16. The long run has also been improved from the other day on the level of 1:18 seconds.
As for this day and Sauber, Massa carries out large crash at the beginning. A cause seems to be the trouble of a suspension. Sauber was left from Barcelona, without seldom making the planned test.
Day Four (Feb.5)
フェラーリ・ＢＡＲ・ザウバーが去り、五日目は4チーム9人のテストになりました。トップタイムはモントーヤで、1:14.804は6周走行で記録しました。モントーヤは12周走行でも最初に1:15.030をマークしており、この走行距離では5日間のベストでした。ロングランのペースは1:17-1:18とタイム落ちが見られるものの、まずまずの調子です。ピッツォニアもモントーヤに匹敵するタイムを出しており、FW26が素性の良い車だと思わせました。
ルノーはこの日、特に目立つこともなく、残っていたプログラムを消化しました。
マクラーレンは相変わらずベストタイムで1:16を切るかどうかというところです。ロングランペースも改善せずにバルセロナテストを終了しました。
この日、パニスが高速の第三コーナーで大クラッシュしました。リアを失ったためのようです。バルセロナは2年前にもライコネンのリアウィングが外れるなど、強大なダウンフォースが発生するコースです。トヨタは強度不足の問題があったのかもしれません。前日のマッサに続き、大事故が続きました。エンジンやリアウィングの規定変更や、コース改修は大した速度低下はもたらしませんでした。F1の進化はその上を行っています。次なる安全対策を打つ必要がありそうです。
Ferrari, BAR, and Sauber went away, and it became the test of four teams nine drivers fifth day. A top time was by Montoya and 1:14.804 was recorded to the run 6 laps. The run had also marked 1:15.030 first 12 laps, and Montoya was the best for five days in this mileage. The pace of a long run was a tolerable tune although 1:17-1:18 and time omission were seen. Pizzonia was also taking out the time which was equal to Montoya, and FW26 made it regard it as it being the good car of a history.
Renault digested this day and the program which remained, without being especially conspicuous.
McLaren was just going to say whether to cut 1:16 with a best time as usual. The Barcelona test was ended, without also improving a long-run pace.
This day and Panis large-crashed at the third high-speed corner. It seems that it is because rear was lost. It is the course which a mighty down force the rear wing of Raikkonen would separate from Barcelona also two years ago generates. Toyota may be that there was a problem that intensity was insufficient. The big accident continued following Massa on the other day. Neither engine nor regulation change of the rear wing nor course repair brought the great speed fall. Evolution of F1 is performing a it top. The next it is likely to be necessary to strike safety measures..
Final Day (Feb.6)
最終日はウィリアムズとトヨタの3人だけになりました。ウィリアムズは唯一、5日間を皆勤し、のべ823周、3,800kmを走りました。このすさまじいテスト量は、今シーズンに賭けるウィリアムズの意気込みが感じられます。モントーヤは3日間で173周も走り、移籍関連の陰口をシャットアウトしました。開幕前の段階では、モントーヤがウィリアムズとともにタイトルを目指すことに支障はなさそうです。
モントーヤはトップタイムこそピッツォニアに奪われましたが、ロングランで1:17秒台の速いペースを維持し、満足な最終日となりました。
トヨタはダ・マッタが黙々とテストをこなしました。トヨタは現段階ではデータ取りに専念し、どうすれば速くなるかの課題を洗い出しているところです。
The final day became only three persons of Williams and Toyota. Williams attended regularly and described only and five days, and ran 3,800km 823 laps. The enthusiasm of Williams who risks this frightful amount of tests on a season now is felt. Montoya ran also 173 laps in three days, and shut out the backbiting of transfer relation. It is likely to be convenient for Montoya aiming at a title with Williams in the stage before opening.
Although just the top time was taken by Pizzonia, Montoya maintained the quick pace of the level of 1:17 seconds in the long run, and became the satisfactory final day.
Da Matta was silent and Toyota managed the test. At a present stage, if Toyota concentrates on taking data and it carries out what, it is just going to inquire into the subject of whether to become quick.
