1: Bread and Circus
IIRC, Lord of Terror hinted "In Nysalorian Era, Dara Happans invented the
roman-style competition and arena for dispelling frustrations of
dissatisfied" (I think they are called Elevens after Greg wrote GROY and
FS..) Lunars have affinity to
prosperity of Nysalor Empire rather than glory of Erzanestyu Dynasty, I
guess they reinduced "Chaotic" principles even though Ordanestyu prohibited
such "Alien" Influence. See Number 5.
2: Raibanth & Temple of Rufdayen (There is rough sketch about this city.)
I used many images of Constantinople for making illustrations for this city,

Oslira)
I think if Great Statue of Raiba(mus) is truly created in an ancient time, I
guess Many Broken Parts are not fixed as Venus de Milo. If I remember
correctly, Bridge crossed over the Oslira in
the past. I don't know who keeps that broken. (Perhaps Lunars control the
traffic with their Moonboats.)
3: Yuthuppa & Greek Style Light House of Alexandria
I think Yuthuppans have constructed many star story towers since the
immemorial era, and many conquerors have destroyed them and survivors
refounded them. And they sometimes have lost their ability to remake and
reluctantly replaced New Style Buildings, I think they selected many
Pelandan Styles, and Greek Style is maybe Pelandan Influence (similar to
Hellenism in Alexander the Great? in Oriental Empire and Successors)
Perhaps that is derived from Carmanian (Karmang)
Domination (Three Brothers divided the world, Carmanian March, Bisoshan and
Bisodakar: Bullshahs) before Lunar coming from Rinliddi. But some of Ancient
Buildings remained and made a misterious air (or disharmony) to the scenery
of the city.
I imagine Yuthuppa is existing in the ambience between God (Sky) Plane and
Mundane Plane, as Alkoth is existing in the Underworld. I remember City of
Black Glass in Kethaela holds many Towers dedicated to Argan Argar, maybe
that is connected to Yuthuppa. South and North, and Night (Xentha) and Day
(Dayzatar).

In rough Image of O'Conner, Acropolis, Palace of Red King and Green King,
Green Wall of Shargash appeared in the Illustration. I think that is similar
to Ancient Spartan Two Kings and Elders in Peloponnesian War. I think Dara
Happans despise Physical Existence as Impure, so city citizens usually hold
Armies (I don't know well about the Ten Phalanxes, but magic controls
Glorantha.) and Shock Troops are generally elevens, and Alkoth is infamous
because their warlike taste and power of elevens for Shargashi support.
5: Destructions by Sheng Seleris
Nomads have trend to despise city living as decadence, and Jenarong Dynasty
also holds such sense if they truly were not from Nivorah. (Maybe
traditionalists were "Bad Emperors" from the point of view of Plentonius.) I
know there is compromise between Genghis Khan's Mongolian Style "Ultimatum
against Rebel Cities" versus many Nomad Conquerors of China (or Rule of
Jenarong) who chose rather Harmonious Relations and gradually get a
decadence of Urban Culture. For example, Timur loved his base city Samarkand
but he relentlessly destroyed other cities and heap up their corpses and
wealths over his city.
6: Decrease of population after the Glory of Erzanestyu Dynasty
I guess Many Population outside of Wall lived in prosperous Era before
Lunars (as modern 17C situation of Glamour.)
And I think Tripolis work as Ceremonial Centers in Lunar Empire, Raibanth is
always Capital of Dara Happa, but Emperors don't stayed long in the city
area (Carmanians, Lunars) and like to stay other places. Maybe capacity of
these Cities is not tested after the Old Age.
7: Greek Style 10 Centuries Military of Polaris
Opposition between Cult of Polaris versus Cult of Shargash is another
matter, and I don't know how Shargashi fought for City Autonomy against
Imperial Centralization, In RW, Babylonian Style City Alliance is eventually
collapsed before Barbarians and their larger empire and Metropolitanism. And
Monothiesm appeared for Centralization, but in Glorantha?
We know Power is derived from Army in the practical term, see Number 9.
8: Temple = Palace of Lords, I think Dara Happan Nobles and Kings lived in
their Temple Palaces as Incarnations of Divinity, (Versus Orlanthi Custom?)
at least some stage of history, and Romans have not such habits. Priests and
Political Role Characters can be same.
9: Civilian Controll in centralized hierarchy
Roman Style versus Chinese Style, Romans (They prefered City and Greek Style
Democracy) could not become Politicians without experience in Army from
tradition of Republic, they loved Glory but they could not admit inevitably
expansion and Merceneries collapsed the City Democracy. And General-Emperors
could not keep their Throne without support of whimsical and uncontrollable
army and emperor-guards.
On the contrary, Chinese Confucians (They detested City Culture, Trade and
Military
Reliance) want to make a Centralized Empire suited to tradition from the
Sacred Kings. And they succeeded to set examinations for choosing
Bureaucrats (Mandarins?) but they could not admit such system to weaken the
Army of empire and requires Strong Powers holding outside structure that is
inevitably factor of civil war or rebellion. And Emperors could not become
Army-owner within the Tradition of Confucianism.
There is always gap between Idealism and Pragmatism. And History is not
Collection of truth, Dara Happans detested Physical Labour and Military
affairs as the matter of Elevens and Lodrillites as Chinese Confucians. I
must choose from the sources like GROY, FS (Many Propaganda) and History of
Dara Happan Army. For Example, Writing about the Emperor Anirestyu the
Stupid is such case. Lunar Military school needs Facts for making a art, but
they also need Deceive for propaganda.
