金曜のフリー走行は、午前の1時間だけになった。フェラーリはわずか2回しかトップを取れなかった。フェラーリは走り込んでマシンを最適化していく得意の手法が出来なかった。
金曜午後の予選でフェラーリは前半8戦のうち、7戦でトップを取った。しかし、後半戦は1回しかトップを取れなかった。金曜は各チームともマシンのセッティングが煮詰められていない。ここで速いというのは、マシンの素性が良いかどうかを示す。2002年は金曜でもフェラーリが速かったが、2003年後半はそうと言えなかった。
土曜は今シーズンの流れを象徴していた。前半はマクラーレンが好調だったがPPはフェラーリが取った。後半はウィリアムズが支配した。終盤に来てルノーの躍進も著しかった。フェラーリは一年を通じてトップにいる力があり、最も安定していたのがタイトルの原動力となった。
マクラーレンは後半に速さを失った。ライコネンがそれでもPPを2回取り、かつチャンピオン争いに最後まで踏みとどまったのは驚異的ともいえた。
The practices on Friday became only in 1 hour of the morning. Ferrari was able to take the top only twice only. Ferrari was not able to do the favorite technique of rushing in and optimizing the machine.
In the first half, Ferrari was taken among 8 games by the qualifying of the Friday afternoon, and took the top by 7 games. However, second half of the game was able to take the top only once. As for Friday, the setting of a machine is not boiled down for each team. That it is quick here shows whether the history of a machine is good. Although Friday of Ferrari was [ 2002 ] also quick, it was not able to be said that it will meet the second half of 2003.
Saturday symbolized the flow of a season now. Although McLaren was good the first half, Ferrari took PP. Williams ruled over the second half. It came in the end and Renault's remarkable progress was also remarkable. Ferrari has the power which a top requires through one year, and it became the driving force of a title that it was most stable.
McLaren lost speed in the second half. It was able to be said that it was wonderful for Raikkonen to still have taken PP twice and to have remained in champion argument to the last.
