MP4/18はまだまだいろいろありそうだ。側面からMP4/17Dと比較してみる。MP4/18のノーズは短くなり、フロントウィングより引っ込んでいる。MP4/17Dはノーズの先端がフロントウィングより前に出ていた。
サイドポッド上のウィングレットも直立していたのが、傾斜しているのがわかる。

There are likely to be various MP4/18 still more. It
compares with MP4/17D from the side. Nose of MP 4/18 becomes short, and
has withdrawn from the front wing. The tip of nose had come out of MP4/17D
before the front wing.
It turns out that that the wing let on side pod also stood straight
inclines. |

MP4/18のフロント・サスペンションは、ロワーアームの前側が、ターニングベインに固定された。MP4/17Dでは、ターニングベインを突き抜けて左右がつながっていた。
これは、ノーズ下を流れる空気に少しでも干渉したくないためなのだろう。MP4/18のノーズ下はそれほど重要なのだ。 |

As for the front suspension of MP4/18, the lower arm front side was fixed
to turning vane. In MP4/17D, it ran through turning vane and right and
left connected.
This will be because they do not want to interfere the flowing air under
the bottom of nose . The bottom of nose of MP4/18 is so important one. |

後方から見ると、MP4/18は上部が尖っている。これはインダクションポッドが丸から三角になったためである。F2003-GAは丸みを帯びている。
エンジンはF2003-GAが小さいことがわかる。メルセデスはまだ大きく、幅を取っているようだ。

As for MP4/18, the upper part is sharp if it
sees from back. This is because induction pod became the triangle from the
circle. F2003-GA is roundish.
Engine is understood that F2003-GA is small. It seems that Mercedes is
still large and has taken width.
