B・A・R 005が登場。このチームは今年が正念場です。ウィリアムズから引き抜いたジェフリ−・ウィリスの最初の作品はウィリアムズ色を残しながらも、F2002を取り入れています。ホンダはトヨタに負けたくないでしょうが、ビルヌーブが愛想をつかしてしまうのか、それとも浮上してくるでしょうか。 BAR 005 appears. This year of this team is the critical moment. The work of Geoffrey Willis's beginning drawn out from Williams has taken in F2002, though it leaves the Williams color. Although Honda probably does not want to be defeated by Toyota, will Villeneuve surface whether it becomes disaffected or will it rise?
 
前年型004との比較

2段階に角張っていた004のノーズに対し、すっきりした感じになりました。

ノーズ下にはFW24の流れを汲む小型ターニングベインが付けられています。

リアタイヤ・フェアリングは大きなリました。

リアカウルを見ると、大きかったホンダエンジンが小型化してリアの低重心化が顕著です。

全体的にシャープになり、明らかに前進したといえるでしょう。

 Comparison with previous 004

It became the touch felt refreshed to nose of 004 which was square in two stages.

Small turning vain which belongs to FW24 is attached to the bottom of nose.

A rear tire fair ring is big better.

If rear cowl is seen, the large Honda engine is miniaturized and the reduction in the center of gravity of rear is remarkable.

Probably on the whole, it becomes sharp and it could be said that it moved forward clearly.
 
他車との比較
ウィリアムズFW24を設計したウィリスだけに、FW24にもっとも似ています。バージボードがないところや、リアタイヤ・フェアリングの形状はそっくりです。

F2002が先鞭をつけた潜望鏡型の排気口は控えめな高さで取り入れています。

サイドポッド上のエクストラウィングはF2002の影響を受けました。

ノーズはFW24のような高さを抑え、F2002風に低くしました。

 Comparison with Others

Only Willis who designed Williams FW24 is resembled most FW24. The place which does not have a barge board, and the form of a rear tire fair ring are similar.

The periscope type exhaust port in which F2002 pioneered is taken in in moderate height.

The extra wing on side pod was influenced of F2002.

Nose stopped the height like FW24 and made it low like F2002.
 
 
フロントウィングはFW24の水平ほどではありませんが、かなりまっすぐに近い感じです。FW24のようなターニングベインがノーズ下に見えます。

005はリアの重心をかなり低くしました。フェラーリは数年かけて小型ギヤボックスを開発しましたが、BARはすぐに真似できました。ギヤボックスの信頼性が求められるところですが、これでZ軸回りの慣性モーメントは改善されるでしょう。
