SANNENZAKA

高台寺から産寧坂へと続く、２００ｍの石段の道。紅殻格子、虫籠窓などを残す昔ながらの京の町家が、石畳の風情ある坂道沿いに続く。この町並は国の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に選定されている。大正時代の画家、竹下夢二萬居の碑がある。

竹下夢二もこの地をこよなく愛し、愛人「彦乃」と７年間過ごした地。

産寧坂（三年坂）

SANNEIZAKA

二年坂から清水寺へと続く石段の道。国の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に選定されている。清水寺の子安塔の安産信仰から付いた名前だが葬送の地・鳥辺野へ通じていたことから、石段で転ぶと３年で死ぬという俗信があり「三年坂」とも記す。

This pedestrian road consists of a series of stone pavements and steps lined on both sides with traditional Kyoto-style houses of merchants and souvenir shops in the "sukiya" style. The road corresponds to the approach to the Koyasu Kannon to which people pray for easy delivery in childbirth. The road is also called "Sannei-zaka" where "sannei" means easy deliveries. In addition to this road, there are several sloping walkways such as Ninen-zaka. Kiyomizu-zaka, and Gojo-zaka which are pilgrimage routes to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Retaining the flavor of the old lifestyle of Kyoto citizens, the area covering Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka is designated an important traditional architecture preservation area by the national government.
