二 尊 院二 尊 院
| 二尊院 NISON-IN TEMPLE 正しくは小倉山二尊教院華台寺という。釈迦如来と阿弥陀如来を本尊とし、一堂にまつっているため二尊院と呼ばれている。写真の総門は伏見城の薬師医門を移したものである。 Built sometime between 834 and 847 by Priest Jinku, the pupil of Honen, this temple is named for the "nison", literally two figures, it houses.Both of these figures, Shaka Buddha and Amida Buddha, were sculpted during the Kamakura period and are Important Cultural Properties. The main hall was rebuilt in 1517 , and is decorated with a pair of Indian-ink drawings by Emperors Goshirakawa and Gonara. The graves of many famous peopple, such as Jinsai Ito, a Japanese clssical scholar, and Tsumasabro Bando, an actor, are nearby. |
