MARUYAMA　PARK

明治時代に神仏分離によって廃された円山一帯の複数の寺の境内からなり、円山安養寺にちなんで名付けられた公園。八坂神社の背後に広がる約９万�uの園内には茶店や料亭が点在する。

This park, the oldest in Kyoto, opened in 1886. It covers 87 thousand square meters, most of it grassy or covered with trees. A famous weeping cherry tree in the center of the park is visited by thousands of people each spring during cherry blossom season. In June, the park is covered with lovely wisteria and irises.
