JISHU　SHRINE

清水寺の本堂北側にある鎮守社。縁結びの神様として知られていて、境内は良縁を願う若い男女の参拝客で賑わっている。八重と一重が同時に咲く”地主桜”がある。

参らなくてもいいような綺麗なおねえさんもいました・・・。

This is the guardian shrine of Kiyomizudera Temple, which enshrines the God of Love. It was erected in1633 by Iemitsu Tokugawa, third shogun of the Edo period. The Haiden Hall, Somon gate, and gaudy Honden Hall are all Important Cultural Properties. Theis shrine is popular during cherry-blossom season. The Jishu Sakura cherry trees are especially lovely. This shrine is usually crowded with school girls who visit to buy charms for luck in love.
