The end of rail and SkyTrain arrived at the Vancouver Airport.
Vancouver International Airport locates about 12 kms from Downtown Vancouver.
In 2010,
it was the second busiest airport in Canada by aircraft movements and passengers
(16.8 million),
behind Toronto Pearson International Airport, with non-stop flights daily
to Asia, Europe,
Oceania, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and other airports within
Canada.

After we passed Granville Bridge, the skyline of the City suddenly appears.
 
(L) Downtown Vancouver
(R) Route 99 passes through the Stanley Park, which size is 10% larger
than New York City's Central Park.
About half-million trees are taller than 76 m, stand over 100 years.
  
After we passed through, cross Lion Gate Brige, a suspension bridge that
crosses the narrow of Burrard Inlet.

始めてカナダ、バンクーバー空港に降りたったのは1972年の冬のことであった。オンタリオ州の病院に
赴任する途中で、乗り継ぎのためである。その10年前には自分の車でバンクーバーを訪れていたのだが、
航空機で日本から入国したときは、改めて気持ちの引き締まる思いであった。40年近く過ぎた今日、
空港施設は改築され、すばらしくなっていた。今回は快晴の天気のもと、空港からレンタカーで
バンクーバーとウイスラーに向かう。
