Malmo is the third most populous city, and situated in its southernmost area in Sweden.
Malmo is part of the transnational Oresund Region, and since Oresund Bridge crosses
the Oresund Strait to Copenhagen, Denmark. The bridge was inaugurated in 2000, and
measures the whole link in total of 16 km.. Apart from the Helsingborg-Helsingor ferry
links further north,most ferry connections have been discontinued.

Malmo, and the rest of southern Sweden has an oceanic climate. Despite its northern
location, the climate is relatively mild, in comparison to other locations in similar latitudes,
mainly because of the Gulf Stream. Daylight extends 17hours in midsummer, to only
around 7hours in midwinter.


マルメはスウェーデン第３の都市で、スウェーデンの一番南の地域にある。人口、28万人、
2000年、デンマークとの間のエーレスンド海峡のエーレスンド橋（Oresund Connection ）
と長い海底トンネルの完成を機に一躍有名になった。冬は比較的温暖で過ごしやすいが、
日照時間は8時間以下と短く、夜である時間が長い。

Via pharmacies throughout the country, Apoteket offers private individuals
prescription and non-prescription drugs. The goal of the pharmacy group is
to inspire and help people achieve a life of health.The present building in the
city of Malmo was built in 1898. The interior goods are those of 400 years old.

400年の伝統を今なお引き継いで開業しているスウェーデンで最も古い薬局が
「レイヨネット」で、マルマ市中心部の大広場に面して建っている。処方箋を見て
薬剤師が調剤している。処方箋が不要な薬品、化粧品などは別のカウンター
で会計する。壁の仕様など年代を経た重厚さが漂う。

マルメ中央駅の運河の南側が市の中心街で、多くのショップ、レストランなどが集中して
いる。マルメ中央駅から発着する列車は多く、ストックホルム、ヨーテボリへの長距離
列車のターミナルでもある。コペンハーゲン空港を経由するコペンハーゲン行きの列車
は、デンマーク国鉄（ DBS ）とスウェーデン鉄道（ SJ ）とが共同で運行している。

マルメ中央駅から西方向に15分くらい歩くとスロット公園の一角にマルメ・ヒュース城が
ある。監獄、要塞としての歴史建造物と記載されているが、焦点の定まらない多目的
博物館という印象であった。

マルメ市から車で30分ほど走るとバルト海に出る。遠くの海面にエーレスンド橋が浮かん
でいるが、その地点を過ぎるとを多くのヨットが係留されているハーバーがある。冬の
気候がそれほど厳しくないのでここで余生を過ごす人も少なくないのかも知れない。
瀟洒な住宅が木々の間に点在している。

Useful Information

The Gulf Stream, together with its northern extension toward Europe, the North Atlantic Drift,
is a powerful warm, and swift Atlantic ocean current that originates in the Gulf of Mexico. Exits
through the Strait of Florida, and follows the eastern coastlines of the United States, and
further to Newfoundland of Canada, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
