Lyon, France

Lyon is a city in east-central France in the Rhone-Alpes region, situated
between Paris
and Marseille. Lyon is located at 470 kms from Paris, 320 kms from
Marseille. Together with
its suburbs and satellite towns, Lyon forms the third-largest metropolitan
area in France
after Paris, with the population of its urban area estimated to be 1,422,000.
The GDP of Lyon is 62billion euro, and the city is the second richest city
after Paris.
Tourism provides a big boost to the Lyon economy with one billion euros
in 2007.
Approximately, 60% of tourists visit for business with the rest for leisure.
Lyon has a long
cultural influence on France and the world. The city is known for its historical
and
architectural landmarks and is a World Heritage Site.

Lyon has two major railway stations: Lyon Part-Dieu, which was built to
accommodate
the TGV and has become the principal railway station for extra-regional
trains; and
Lyon Perrache, which is an older station that now often serves as the starting
station
of the regional and long-distance rail services. In practice, many trains,
including
TGV, serve both stations. Smaller railway stations include Saint-Paul,
which serves
the western suburbs of Lyon metropolitan area.

Gare de Lyon Perrache

Gare de Lyon-Saint-Paul is located between the base of Fourviere hill and
the river of Saone.

Gare de Lyon-Saint-Paul is the rail terminal and provides the place for
storing bicycles.
The TCL (Transports en Commun Lyonnais), Lyon's public transit system,
consisting of
metro, buses and tramways, serves 62 communes of the Lyon agglomeration.
The subway
network has four lines of A, B, C and D, which run with a frequency of
up to two minutes.
There are four tram lines of T1, T2, T3 and T4.

monument, is
located in front of the Gare de Lyon-Perrach, has a total of 78 rooms.

which locate
on the 3rd and 5th floor. Non-smoking rooms are 64. Therefore, the percentage
of smoking
rooms is 57.7%.
Sofitel Lyon, a luxury hotel and face to the Le Rhone, has 164 rooms. Non-smoking
floors
are located on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th floor. Smoking rooms locate on
the 1st ( 20 rooms ),
4th ( 24 rooms ) and 7th floor ( 22 rooms ). The rates of smoking rooms
are about 42.9 %.
Hotel Raddison Blu Lyon is the tallest hotel in Europe, and it provides
a wonderful view of
the city. The total numbers of guest rooms are 245, of which smoking rooms
are 35,
which consists of 14.3% of the total.

リヨン市都市圏として人口、約1,422,000人で、パリに次ぎフランス第二にランクされる。。フランスに
おける金融センターのひとつであり、多くのフランスの銀行の本店が置かれる。1989年以降国際
刑事警察機構(インターポール、ICPO)の本部が置かれている。旧市街はユネスコの世界遺産
(文化遺産)に登録されている。
1981年にフランス国鉄、TGVが、パリーリオン間に開通した。TGVはリヨン市内でペラーシュ駅、
パールデュー駅の2駅に停車する。北東から流れ込むローヌ川と、北から流れ込むソーヌ川が
リヨンの南部で合流する。ソーヌ川の西側は石畳の街並みの残る旧市街で、リヨンの象徴
サン・ジャン大教会の建つフルヴィエールの丘がある。
