The S-train (S-tog ) network is a suburban rail network of Metropolitan Copenhagen,
Denmark. It connects the city center with the inner suburb of Copenhagen.
The first line was opened in 1934. Today, the network forms the heart of the
public transportation infrastructure in the city, serving more than 357,000
passengers a day.

S-tog （エス・トウ）と呼ばれている鉄道が市内と近郊とを結んで走行している。
赤い電車として親しまれているが、車両内部の幅がきわめて大きい。これで標準軌道を
ちゃんとすれ違えるのか心配になるほどである。連結器近くの車内電光掲示案には
その電車の停車する駅名がずらりと並んでおり、通過する度に一つづつ消えて行く。
アナウンスはデンマーク語なので目的地を乗り過ごさないように表示を注視せねば
ならない。車両は犬、自転車、乳母車などの乗れるセクションと乗れないセクションとが
ある。外部ドアに自転車の標識があれば自転車ＯＫである。田舎の駅では鉄道ホームが
道路と緩いスロープ直結しているので、電車を降りた後、そのまま直ぐにでもペタルを
踏み込んでサイクリングに出発する。電車のドアが自動で開かないときは、すぐ開閉
ボタンを押して乗り降りすることも知っておかねばならない。頻繁に電車を利用する人
には２４時間乗車券がある。

A dog is also a passenger of the train. The space for a bicycle, baby carriage and pets.

M1,M2 METRO

Copenhagen Metro is a rapid transit serving Copenhagen Metropolitan District in Denmark.
The subway system was opened in 2002, and has two lines, M1 and M2. In 2007, the line
was extended to Copenhagen Airport. The train runs automatically without a driver .


コペンハーゲン地下鉄、METRO はすべて自動運転であり、運転手はいない。しかし、
スタッフが車両内または駅のホームに待機するとされている。 だが、地中の
コンクリートチューブ（トンネル）を運転手のいない電車が高速で走行することは、
始めて乗るものには驚きであった。ラシュアワーには２分ごとに発着する。M1とＭ 2
との二つの系統があり、Christlanshavn 駅の少し先の地中で分岐している。M2 が
コペンハーゲン国際空港、ターミナル３に乗り入れている。２００７年９月に完成した
新しい路線である。運賃は空港から市内まで３０ＤＫＫである。市内ではNorreport
駅でＳ-tog などと連絡している。
