Sages and Mystic
Lao-Tzu and Confucius: In some legend, Confucius (the Founder of Confucianism) met Lao-tzu (Founder of Taoism) and convinced himself with deeper truth. (Of course, this legend was written from point of view of Taoists!) In such story, Confucius depicted Lao-tzu "A Dragon among Men".

Prince Qiao of Zhou: He was famous for his great knowledge and wisdom, but died in his youth. Many lamented his death and people didn't believe. They made up a story that the prince in fact turned into xian-ren (risi) and pretended to his death to his subjects.
